Abstract. The authors discuss the results and the main directions of development of the criminal justice in Kazakh-stan. They analyze the conceptual provisions of the draft of the new Criminal Procedure Code, aimed to pro-tect the rights and freedoms of persons, involved in criminal proceedings.
