The paper deals with the existing types of models quality monitoring in native higher educational institutions. The author proposes a classification of models according to different characteristics: the conceptual framework; focus; the status of the subjects; the coverage of the monitored objects, etc. It is proved that the vast majority of models quality monitoring, which scientists design for implementation in domestic universities, is monofunctional in nature and focus on one object monitoring. At the same time, the greatest complexity and practical interest for universities are polyfunctional model in which monitoring is comprehensive and covers the key components of the educational system.
