The predominant form of family-based agricultural economy in Russia is a personal subsidiary plot. The article presents small-scale agricultural business development monitoring in Belgorod region; key factors, restraining family farms development taking into account three main groups of factors (social status, econom-ical circumstances of small-scale agricultural business functioning, technical and technological factors). The article also describes the conditions, which, if realized, might guarantee agricultural production ramp up for small-scale business and enhancement of its production and financial efficiency.
