The use of Information and Communication Technologies in Higher Education: Towards an "information society"

Abstract. This article analyzes the role of information and communication technologies in higher education, shows experience of its usage in teaching and solving the arising problems in connection with it; points out opportunities and types used in high school. The author proves the necessity for their use, that is an urgent problem to improve the quality of education through an innovative approach in conditions of formation of the "information society”.
