Abstract. In the article "Translation as a kind of intercultural communication" is characterized the kinds of linguistic mediation. Discussed is the need for a deep theoretical and practical understanding of the changes in the language from the positions of sociolinguistic analysis. Considerable attention is paid to translation as a form of intercultural communication.
