Criteria for poverty and the effectiveness of social policy

Abstract. The article deals with the socio-economic phenomenon of poverty, the causes of poverty in the Russian conservation, approaches to poverty measurement and "prosperity." Part of the problem of poverty can be reduced with the help of social policy, but the state minimum social standards can meet only the most urgent needs and does not take into account the subjective dimension of life, to the same statistics indicate that inflation is rising at a faster pace than the indexation of the minimum social guarantees.
