The effectiveness of prevention, detection and investigation of crimes depends on the quality and quantity of forensically important information, speed of its receipt to a subject of investigation, correct treatment of subject of its investigation. There is a wide variety of sources: vestiges of crime, vestiges facilities; supplemental information characterizing various branches and individual attributes of objects, entities, situations, etc. with no identified cause-and-effect relationship with the crime, but they contribute to the solution of problems and identification of diagnostic investigation.

In article separate aspects on improvement of the criminalistic characteristic of crimes on an ethnic basis with the obligatory account in its drawing up the protective barriers and the additional consolidating factors determined by ethnocultural, ethnopsychological, language, religious features are considered. To it also some problems interfaced to the studied subject have to be considered.

The article is devoted to some aspects of evolution of the evidence system in the Russian criminal proceedings in the post-revolutionary period.
