The apaper considers the approaches to definition of value of a brand. Based on analysis of brands rating in 2005–2014 by Interbrand, the author makes the conclusions about the impact of 2008 global financial crisis on the value of the top brands and defines the place of brand value in the company's competi-tiveness.

The paper proposed and considered multifactorial model of analysis of regions of the Russian Federation. The basis of the idea of ​​building a spatial model was based on the methodology of the modified ABC-analysis, where the main characteristics were considered: the production of goods and services, the dynamics of production and the volume of innovative products and services in the region. The analysis results are of practical importance for the development of strategies to strengthen the unity of economic space and the innovative development of our country.
