The authors describe the approaches to the construction of teaching methods of mathematical statistics to students of the humanities and technical majors with the aim of developing skills of solving professional tasks using adequate mathematical apparatus.

Many latent variables are characterized by quantitative variables. In order to use quantitative variables within the framework of the theory of latent variables, their categorization was carried out. The differentiating ability of the categorized variables was carried out using analysis of variance.
