The work is devoted to investigation of polymer material structure and revealing its dependence on conditions and regime of processes occurring at the moment of polymer matrix curing and deformation, as well as the influence of filler and its adhesion to polymer matrix. Initial diagnostics of the structure of glass-reinforced plastic based on epoxy binder ED-20 and glass fabric TR-560-30A (100) was carried out in the experiment to further study the effect of very cold climate of Yakutsk on the strength and deformation characteristics of the composite material.
Polymer composite materials are increasingly used as materials in aircraft, auto and shipbuilding, in the construction of buildings and structures. due to their light weight, high strength and durability. To replace carbon fiber, basalt and glass fibers are increasingly used as reinforcing fillers. In this paper, samples of basalt and fiberglass based on epoxy resin, obtained by vacuum infusion, were studied for cyclic loading with a uniaxial increasing load "tension-compression". According to the results of the tests, the average strength values were obtained: for samples of basalt-paste, this value was 182.56 MPa, for fiberglass – 179.26 MPa. The tests carried out showed the effectiveness of this method and the validity for determining the resource characteristics of materials.
An urgent task in the production of polymer composite materials is to increase the elastic-strength properties by adding various modifiers, using various polymer matrices and formulations, changing reinforcing fillers and combining them. The last method is the most interesting. As the literature analysis of modern scientific works has shown, with this method there is a synergistic effect of increasing the strength of the material and reliability under various types of load. This paper presents the comparative results of tensile and bending tests on original hybrid, pure, and modified basalt, glass, and carbon plastics. The combination of basalt and glass fibers with carbon fiber, which has high rigidity, made it possible to increase the tensile strength to 9,5% and 9,3%, respectively, and to 39,5% and 2,6%, respectively, for bending.
his paper presents the result of studies of changes in the structure and mechanical properties of fiberglass based on an epoxyanhydride binder with fillers of carbon nanotubes (CNT) and dispersed silicon carbide powder (SiC). The result of the work is a dynamic mechanical analysis and assessment of the influence of fillers on the glass transition temperatures of fiberglass.
This article provides an overview of studies on the study of uneven aging of polymer composite materials under the influence of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In general, the current state of research indicates that exposure to UV radiation can have a significant effect on the properties of glass-basalt composites based on epoxy resin, including changes in surface chemistry, mechanical properties, and appearance. However, further research is needed to fully understand the underlying mechanisms responsible for these effects and develop effective strategies to reduce them. The design and manufacture of a UV camera for testing glass and basalt plastics is an important aspect of studying the effects of UV radiation on these materials.
