The article presents a comparative analysis of the principles and mechanisms of extracurricular employment of students and additional education of children. Is determined by the location of the system in the process of socialization of the younger generation. Proposed new forms of organization of additional education, the implementation of which takes into account the potential of the urban community, aimed at creating aesthet-ic and moral values and the expansion of the historical and cultural horizons of the young generation.

Further education courses are limited in time which results in the necessity to focus on particular elements of professional communica-tive competence.
