The article provides the concept of the Internet-communication, discusses the functional characteristics of the Internet-communication as a rapidly developing, diverse, multifunctional sphere. The author analyses the Internet-communication status and its distinctive features peculiar only to norms of language and speech behavior in computer mediated communication.
The concept of a virtual linguistic personality and its self-presentation is revealed on the example of such a high-powered type of blogger as an influencer. Instagram – a popular social networking service – is used as a source of research material. The emphasis is placed on the primary element of verbal self-positioning – influencers’ usernames. A linguistic analysis of this element is being carried out, and the trends in the creation of the studied units are revealed.
