The research is devoted to the analysis of the manifestations of patriotism by today's students as the char-acteristics of their value-sense sphere and scope of the moral consciousness. The main object of study – the implementation of specific content (cognitive, emotional, behavioral) and leveled (by L. Kohlberg: pre-conventional, conventional, postconventional) components of the patriotism shown by young people.

The author, as a result of studying of theoretical aspects of the studied problem, proves possibilities of application of means of physical culture in development of the emotional sphere of children of the advanced preschool age in practical activities.
