The article discusses phraseological units with components –names of color: black and white. An attempt was made to present the diversity of the semantics of phraseological units with each of the two colors, to describe the types of relations between the cultural component of phraseological units and the component-name of the color. Patterns of manifestation of the meanings of each color and the presence or absence of contrast in the semantics are revealed.
This paper attempts a brief comparative analysis of Uzbek, Arabic and Russian proverbs. Such a choice is due to the great differences between Russian and Arabic, Muslim culture and the intermediate position of Uzbek culture, which has been influenced by both Islam and Russian culture at different stages. In the process of comparison, you can notice that many proverbs are very similar. But Arabic is more moralizing and often represents a retelling of the instructions of the Prophet and other teachers, while Russian and Uzbek often contain generalized folk experience.
The article deals with the semantic aspects of the English proverbs about family and family relations. The significance of the research lies in that the proverbial expressions help us understand the role of family in society and the meaning of family relations for an individual. The proverbs describing various aspects of family life have been selected by the method of continuous sampling and analyzed from a semantic point of view. They reflect such functions of family institution as reproduction, parenting, meeting everyday and emotional needs of family members. Preservation of the proverbial expressions about marriage and family relations in oral and written speech of our contemporaries proves that family remains the basis of modern society. Studying the English proverbs about family makes it possible to understand the family values of the English people, while comparing them to their Russian counterparts proves that these values actually coincide.
The article is devoted to the use of psycholinguistic methods in sociological research based on the proverbs of the Russian, Yakut and Yukagir peoples. Common linguistic approaches are revealed in the generation of proverb samong different peoples, and some features manifested by different psychological, everyday ways of life, geographical and climaticf eatures of the northern peoples.
