The article analyzes the problem of feeling psychological well-being among psychology students studying in the first year. A theoretical review of the main approaches to understanding psychological well-being in psychological science has been carried out. The question of choosing the profession of a psychologist is raised through the prism of their own personal problems and experiences of future students. Since when choosing the profession of a psychologist, future students can resort to this motive. As a result of the empirical study, we come to the conclusion that first-year students are prone to displaying an average level of psychological well-being, which confirms the research hypothesis. Most likely, the decrease in the level of psychological well-being occurs due to the experience of the adaptation period in first-year students. It can be concluded that most first-year students of the Faculty of Psychology have the skills to build positive relationships with others, as well as the skills of self-acceptance and goal setting in life, as components of psychological well-being.

The modern dynamic development of social relations negatively affects the unformed psyche of the individual, thus, the presence of a critically high level of psychological stress among the population of the Russian Federation is determined. Of particular concern is the psychological state of 1st year students. Features of the transition of 1st year students to a new environment are associated with the inability of psychological adaptation to other conditions of existence, it is for this reason that the study presented a theoretical analysis of the problems of psychological well-being of 1st year students.
The article presents a theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific research on the phenomenon of psychological well-being and its empirical study in the context of gender identity. The main approaches to the definition of the content and structure of the concepts of "psychological well-being" and "gender identity" are considered. The results of a comparative analysis of the structural and level features of the psychological well-being of adults with different gender identity status are described.
