The article considers various approaches to assessing the tourism potential of a territory. The points of view of various authors and researchers are presented. The factors that determine the attractiveness of a tourist destination are given. The ecosystem approach is described. The method of cartographic taxonomy is analyzed in detail. The author of the article proposes criteria for evaluating regions that are promising for film-induced tourism development.
