The paper deals with the main features of activities of the institutions of culture from the point of view of tourism and recreation development in Tula region in recent years. The methods of complex analysis of statistical information are used. The generalization of the obtained data is carried out, the aspects of interdependence of tourism and culture are identified.

The article deals with the basic trends of agricultural production development in the province of Tula and in modern Tula region in the long-term dynamics. The changes taking place in the agriculture of Tula region in the twentieth century and in the beginning of the twenty first century are considered.
