In this article, the authors attempted to analyze the composition of the employees of the Samara corporate organization of the nobility in the second half of the XIX – early XX century. The analysis is carried out on the property, position, age, educational and class criteria.

The article deals with the formation and development of physical and mathematical education in pedagogi-cal high school, activities of the faculty of the Department of Physics and Mathematics Faculty since its inception in 1989 until 2001, when it was opened Togliatti State University.

The author describes the main aspects of the formation of the cultural space of Stavropol-on-Volga, changes in the provincial town appearance, development of its infrastructure, thereby improving the general cultural level of citizens, the formation of spiritual values.
