Radioactive waste is one of the least publicized, but at the same time the most important environmental problems of the 21st century. Because of their structure and decomposition time, these substances are the most difficult to dispose of. This article is devoted to the methods of their burial. It examines all available methods for isolating waste from the biosphere, the pros and cons of each approach, and identifying the optimal one to date. Radioactive waste is a problem to be solved by the next generation of nuclear power, which is related to the preservation of fuel and material resources for the long term, the development of relatively clean energy sources that cause minimal damage to the environment and preserve the radiation balance in nature.
