The article considers the linguistic features of the fundamental gender opposition male-female in the Siberian ethnic tradition. The comparative characteristic of matrimonial relations recorded in ethnographic sources of the XIXth century with the data of modern associative studies of the XXth-XXIst centuries is represented.
