The article discusses the issues of washing new and recycled containers at food industry enterprises. The types of contaminants are described and detergents for their removal are evaluated. As an alternative method for washing containers, a method of treating them with electrically activated water is proposed. As a result of this treatment, no traces of the washing solution remain on the container, the environment is not polluted when water is drained into the sewer, and the washing process becomes cheaper.
