The article is a practical study of bilingualism on the example of children brought up in a Russian-English family. The author describes the first steps in teaching a child two languages, plans further steps to explore this issue, drawing on the experience of working with an older child, using a proven method of teaching two languages when communicating with a younger child. The author also talks about different approaches to teaching bilingual children. The article emphasizes the idea that the initial stage of teaching children to two languages is in the form of commands: the children do not speak yet, but they fully understand what their parents want them to do. This article is only the beginning of a long study that will be continued.
