This paper presents a theoretical material about the specifics of the work on writing descriptions in the first grade. As illustrative material are abstract classes, revealing the activities of teachers and students at differ-ent stages of the structure from the perspective of modern methodological requirements.
This article is relevant both for experienced teachers and student assistance who are dealing with the question of choosing a form to monitor the level of knowledge by students. This paper examines the main forms of knowledge, skills and abilities’ control in English lessons at school, examines the basic concepts, positive and negative aspects of each specific form. The article provides recommendations for using these forms, depending on the goals of the lesson and the needs of the class. The work also contains information on the link between different classifications of these kinds of control, their role in the educational process.
