This article addresses the issue of municipal solid waste (MSW) management as a critical environmental challenge of our time. Landfilling, while a common practice, can lead to soil and water contamination (Jones, 2018), while incineration raises concerns about air pollution (Brown, 2019). Particular attention is paid to the prospects for developing MSW recycling technologies aimed at reducing the negative environmental impact and extracting secondary resources. As highlighted by researchers, recycling offers a pathway to resource recovery and a reduction in landfill waste (Lee & Park, 2021). The analysis reveals that a comprehensive approach to MSW management, including sorting, recycling, and the use of innovative technologies, is the most effective way to address this problem. Such an integrated approach is crucial for achieving sustainable waste management practices (Garcia et al., 2022).
