This paper examines VPN technology as a means of ensuring secure data exchange. The fundamental principles of VPN operation, the protocols used, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. Special attention is paid to setting up a self-hosted VPN server based on WireGuardAG and assessing the economic efficiency of this solution.

The article discusses key features of proving and investigating artificial intelligence (AI) crimes. The work of researchers on challenges related to digital footprints, anonymity of intruders, cross-border nature of acts and lack of legislative regulation of AI in the criminal law of Russia has been studied. The need to rethink traditional investigative techniques, integrate AI into law enforcement and establish accountability for misuse of technology is emphasized. Problems of crime qualification, forms of guilt of AI developers and users, as well as prospects for the development of legal norms to minimize risks are listed. The study is based on an analysis of current digitization trends and examples from practice, including experimental regimes in Russia.
