This article presents the findings of an experiment conducted to obtain an aseptically pure currant culture of four varieties: “Vostochny granat”, “Yadrenaya”, “Nadezhda”, and the “VAR1” line. The objective was to introduce these cultures into in vitro culture for further study. The findings of the study indicate that the use of a 70% ethanol solution and a 10% sodium hypochlorite solution as disinfectants represents a moderately effective method of sterilising plant material, with an explant survival rate of 43%. The “VAR1” line exhibited the highest viability, with a rate of 63%.
