Abstract. The style of work of managers of the industrial era is represented by the metaphor of the organization as a person, where "the head thinks and the hands do". In this model, employees are set to be "hired workers". The notion of employees as thoughtless "hands", according to the authors, is wrong in the age of expansion of commitment and employee involvement.
