This study explores the operational specifics of transport vehicles used for transporting bituminous coal in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It analyzes the technical parameters and performance characteristics of dump trucks operating under extreme cold and seasonal road inaccessibility. The research highlights the key factors influencing the selection of machinery, including cost, maintainability, fuel efficiency, and environmental performance. Special attention is paid to the specifics of organizing coal transportation during the autumn–winter period when the regional road network gains sufficient load-bearing capacity. The article also considers the prospects of introducing natural gas–powered, hybrid, and electric trucks in Arctic regions.
