The article considers the process of import substitution in Russia. The study describes the regulatory legal acts of the Russia Federation in the field of import substitution and state support measures, identifies the most priority sectors of import substitution, goods that are difficult to replace with analogues, considers the issue of parallel imports and conducts a public opinion poll on import substitution in Russia. The novelty of the study lies in the use of survey data to identify collective opinion about the policy of import substitution in the state. As a result, aspects of import substitution in the Russian Federation were highlighted and reviewed.
