Smart grid is a modern digital energy system that allows managing the production, distribution and consumption of energy using Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The design of smart grids in the Far North (Republic of Sakha Yakutia), carried out taking into account the special climatic conditions and geo-graphical location of the region, can ensure reliable operation of the system in conditions of low temperatures, strong snowstorms and short periods of sunshine.
This can be accomplished through the use of special technologies such as automated network management, equipment condition monitoring, and the use of reliable and durable materials for construction and maintenance of transmission lines. This will minimize the risks of power outages and ensure reliable power supply for residents and enterprises of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The article considers what devices are included in smart grids and what peculiarities they have in use in the Far North conditions.
