The article examines the pedagogical potential of English proverbs as a means of developing linguocultural competence in English Language Teaching. The research addresses the problem of insufficient methodological systematization of paremiological material in classroom practice. The object of the study is the process of linguocultural competence formation in university EFL students. The aim of the work is to design and test a concept-oriented instructional model based on English proverbs. The study introduces an original framework that treats proverbs as cognitive representations of cultural worldview and integrates them through conceptual clustering and intercultural reflection. The novelty of the research lies in substantiating the role of proverbs in developing learners’ interpretative, reflective, and intercultural analytical skills within competence-based language education.
