This article presents an overview of the second chapter of Successful Writing at Work written by Philip C. Kolin, the Distinguished Professor of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Southern Mississippi. Even though the book mostly considers the matters of professional writing, it includes useful guidelines for anybody who wants to improve their writing and presentation skills. This article uncovers the main points that are discussed by the author in the second chapter and invites readers to proceed reading the book on their own if they want to learn more about successful writing.
