The relevance of this topic lies in the growing industrial demand both in Russia and in other countries of the world for "rare earth metals" – rare chemical elements with exceptional physical and chemical properties. For example, ytterbium is used in silicon solar cells to convert light energy into electrical energy, in coatings for temperature control systems, or in the manufacture of laser systems. These substances are used in energy, microelectronics, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, high-tech and nuclear technologies, including in the manufacture of weapons, aerospace technology and medical equipment. The purpose of this work is to study potential deposits of resources in the Arctic, such as the Tomtorskoye field, for further use in the country's economy.
