This article discusses the recently emerged in Russian language neologisms that appeared as a result of word-formation derivation of borrowing from other languages, contamination of two words or phrases, as well as the mixing of the Cyrillic and Latin graphic notation. Explained the value of the most actively used in order to motivate the reasons for their introduction. And characteristic features of word-formation and formal data neoplasms. The article also neologisms are classified by fields of use and sources of borrowing. Determined the validity / invalidity of entry of the foreign words in the active vocabulary of most native speakers of Russian.

Rapid development of human society has led to a great number of new realities appearance. Thus, it is necessary to study neologisms, as these linguistic units are quickly transferred from passive to active vocabulary. Nowadays English endures neological boom. New words are appearing both in English and American languages.
The subject of the study was neologisms that are actively used in speech by the younger generation, as well as in the field of show business and the Internet. The purpose of this study was to identify the source of their origin and methods of education. The result of the study showed that most words do not differ in the originality of word-formation models and represent a complete sound and semantic repetition of the source language.
Events related to the covid-19 virus pandemic in the world (2020 – present) served as a catalyst for the emergence of a large number of neologisms. Based on the material of the French-speaking press, the author identifies and analyzes the neologisms that appeared during this period of time. Based on the analysis, the author concludes that these neologisms were formed mainly by semantic mechanisms, as well as word formation mechanisms and relate to the field of medicine and society. Some of the neologisms are of an affective nature and are based on wordplay and homophony. Their rapid spread is facilitated by the Internet, in particular, social networks and blogs.
In the article, the author talks about the impact of coronavirus on the lifestyle of the population in General and on the Russian language in particular. The article highlights the trends in the lexical composition of the Russian language. The article examines the vocabulary that appeared during the pandemic, as well as changes in the meaning of existing words. The importance of current lexical processes is emphasized.
