In this article, the author analyzes the concepts of “East" and "West”, namely, their political and cultural interpretation. He determines not only the features of the political cultures of the East and the West, but also their manifestations in Russian political culture, their dichotomy, interconnection and contradictions in it. This dichotomy is primarily due to the unique geographical position of Russia and natural historical processes.
