The article examines the history of the formation in the Russian language of a group of words denoting color. The semantic group of these words has passed a long history: from denoting minimal differences between colors to denoting the widest spectrum. The composition of the group is constantly replenished due to borrowings and the possibilities of the reserves of the language itself, while part of the vocabulary is falling out of active use. The researchers note that extralinguistic factors also began to influence the emergence of new color designations.
The article analyzes the semantics of black nominations in the linguistic and paremiological systems of the Yakut and other Turkic languages. Black nominations, acting as a definition for pejorative words in phraseological units, serve as a means of intensifying negative evaluativeness, as well as expressiveness of expression. A positive or negative assessment of phraseological units with a component named for the color is actualized not only explicitly, but also through the lexical-semantic opposition of words denoting achromatic colors. An important role in the mechanism and process of acquiring the estimated value of phraseological units is also played by the cultural connotations of the name of the color.
This article provides a description of the semantics of the nominations for female jewelry of the Yakut people. In the traditional culture of the Sakha people, women's jewelry occupies a special place. The names of the jewelry reflect the national and cultural characteristics of the environment and the life of native speakers. The semantic diversity in the nominations of jewelry is associated with the closeness of the people to nature (images of flowers, birds), with the symbolism embedded in the names, with a special technique for making jewelry.
The paper examines the features of the semantics of a proper name on the basis of the Yakut language; the source for the analysis is the names of NEFU students living in hostels. Analyzing anthroponymics, many sometimes explained the meaning of names, relying on folk etymology, which comes from the root base of the word, and correlated the generic name with meaning. The representation of the NAME concept indicates that the Sakha people do not lose touch with history, are trying to preserve national traditions and are proud of their national identity.
