The authors’ project experience demonstrates that contradiction resolution principles serve as a practical and accessible tool for a wide range of specialists in industrial companies, who are not professional TRIZ experts. However, despite its versatility, the classical matrix has gaps that can pose challenges for inexperienced users. The paper discusses the development and relevance of the contradiction resolution matrix, along with the characteristics of the augmented matrix of mono principles and the matrix of bi-poly principles. The challenges of traditional TRIZ methods–such as their complexity and limited accessibility, difficulties in solving complex problems, the limited effectiveness of the classical Altshuller matrix, and efforts to automate the solution process–are discussed. The methods for filling gaps in the matrix, validating its accuracy through calculations on random and existing matrixes, and applying normalisation to standardise the results are described. The authors also showcase the functionality of the Compinno-TRIZ module, where the matrix of contradiction resolution principles is automated in four modes: classical, augmented, bi-poly for engineering, and bi-poly for business.
