This article discusses the problem of code switching in bilingual speech, a phenomenon where a speaker switches from one language to another within the same utterance. As globalization continues to influence cultural landscapes, the preservation and promotion of indigenous heritage have become increasingly important. The research is based on data collected from three schools in Yakutsk, where students were asked to describe images in both Russian and Yakut languages. The students' answers revealed the frequency of code switching in their speech.
