The article is devoted to the techniques of association and consonance in the study of geometric terms learnt in grades 7-8 at school in English. The auther gives arguments to why these two mnemotechnical techniques are most suitable for teaching at school. This paper will discuss the role of the method of consonance and association in learning geometric terms in English, and the importance of proper selection of simple but understandable examples in applying these techniques. Based on the reasoning given, applications of these methods have been given with specific examples. The examples were chosen to be illustrative and accessible to the age of the teenagers.
