This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the influence of classical English literature on the development and current state of the English language. The research covers the period from the late 16th to the 19th century, focusing on the works of key figures such as William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and others. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to understand the historical and cultural roots of the modern language norm, as well as the mechanisms of enriching the lexical and phraseological stock of the language. The aim of the research is to identify and systematize specific linguistic elements (lexical units, phraseological units, grammatical constructions) that have entered common usage from classical literary works. The methods of comparative analysis, linguistic commentary, and statistical frequency analysis were applied. The results demonstrate that the contribution of the classics to the English language is multifaceted: from the introduction of neologisms and set expressions to the consolidation of certain syntactic models and stylistic devices. It is concluded that classical literature serves not only as a cultural heritage but also as a living source that continues to nourish and shape modern English speech.
