Article is devoted to the development of musical and aesthetic interest of pupils by means of folk music of Don. In the present study describes the formative experiment, which tracks the progress of students. As a result, it was revealed that a specially organized training system allows you to have a positive impact on the attitude of students to the musical folklore of the Don region and develop, thus, their musical interest.

The article is devoted to teaching students the organization of musical activity, the need for a focused teacher training, which must be combined fundamental education and profound assimilation of scientific bases of professional and practical mastery of it, with the formation of practical skills.
