The relevance of the study lies in the non-decreasing number of crimes and juvenile delinquency and, as a result, the absence of negative dynamics in the number of adolescents included in the criminalization processes and demonstrating deviant behaviors, which indicates, among other things, the lack of a system of personnel training for the organization of preventive work with them. The purpose of the article is to determine the key subjective characteristics of a modern teacher, who has to organize the prevention of deviant behavior of adolescents within the framework of professional activity. When organizing the study, methods of theoretical analysis and empirical comparison were used to implement the methodological basis of research related to the analysis of the works of domestic and foreign researchers in the field of prevention of deviant behavior of minors, training specialists to organize this work, as well as the formation of teachers' subjective characteristics for the purposes of preventive work with deviant adolescents. The main results of the presented article include the clarification of the characteristics and components of the concepts under study. Based on the analysis and comparison of concepts found in various sources, the content of the following definitions is clarified: deviant behavior of adolescents, the process of deviant behavior of adolescents, the focus of training specialists in the prevention of deviant behavior of adolescents, subjective characteristics and components of personal and professional qualities of teachers organizing preventive work with minors of deviant behavior. The theoretical significance lies in the clarification and concretization of the concepts under study in the context of the prevention of deviant behavior of adolescents and, based on them, the determination of professional and personal characteristics of teachers engaged in preventive work with this category of minors. The practical significance of this research lies in the possibility of using the presented subjective professional and personal characteristics of a teacher in order to organize the prevention of deviant behavior of adolescents.
