This article deals with the particularities of male verbal behavior. Masculine communication strategies and tactics are generalized and systematized. The main purpose of this article is to justify the necessity of tak-ing into account the gender factor while analyzing verbal behavior of communicants. Among the most com-mon means of representation of male domination in the communication are initiative, accuracy, explicitness, the use of terms, the desire for dialogue rivalry and psychological "deafness".

The article analyzes the experience of speech competence development among students of the Bryansk branch of the All-Russian Institute for Advanced Training of the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs Personnel in the course of the discipline "Russian language in business documentation. Culture of speech”. The ways and means of mastering the correct speech are determined; the specificity of basic abstracts methods use and activation of thinking (discussion) for the acquirement of appropriate knowledge, skills and increasing motivation to master the expressive means of language is revealed. Within the framework of the considered problem, the author offers arguments justifying the need to support the language component in the retraining of the police officers.
In the article the author examines the connection between military toponymics and the language personality of a serviceman as a reflection of the linguistic picture of the world of military society. A brief history of study and military-political preconditions for the nomination of the inner-city objects in Moscow are given, an associative experiment is described. The author gives a quantitative and qualitative description of the most frequent urbanisms in the semantic field of «war». As a result of the study, a conclusion is drawn about the role of toponyms associated with the military society in the formation and development of the language personality of the Russian serviceman. The material of the study can be used both in military education and in the optional course of onomastics in a civilian university.
