The article deals with issues of gender aspect of youth leadership in academic groups. There are principal propositions of the youth gender leadership concept in the article. It is concluded that the gender characteristics of youth leaders in academic groups are updated in the context of joint activities. The conditions for the actualization of youth leadership are the following: age of youth leaders; experience of social learning in “social oases”; type of leadership; a set of personal and situational qualities determined by the gender characteristics of the leaders; leadership style; leadership composition. The authors proposed a typology of gender youth leadership, which is based on the gender characteristics of leaders, their age characteristics, as well as the social situation of leadership functioning.
The article presents the results of an analysis of studies of the influence of a leader’s personality in the process of interaction with participants in a small group in the educational process and the necessary conditions for the formation of leadership qualities.
