Kutinskii I. O. MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH HELIUM CONCENTRATE EXTRACTION // Научно-методический электронный журнал «Концепт». – 2026. – . – URL: http://e-koncept.ru/2026/0.htm
This article analyzes the principal environmental issues arising from helium concentrate extraction in the Arctic regions of Russia, focusing on the Oil and Gas Condensate Field. The study examines the impacts of industrial activities on atmospheric air, water resources, soil and land stability, biodiversity, and the geological environment under extreme permafrost conditions. The legal framework regulating these processes is reviewed, and modern mitigation strategies including carbon capture, wastewater bioreactors, geotextile stabilization, and thermosiphon technologies are discussed. The article emphasizes the importance of adopting best available technologies and sustainable management practices to minimize ecological risks and ensure long-term environmental safety in Arctic industrial projects.
ASPECTS OF THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF HELIUM CONCENTRATE MINING ON THE ECOSYSTEM // Научно-методический электронный журнал «Концепт». – 2026. – . – URL: http://e-koncept.ru/2026/0.htm
Helium is in demand all over the world, and its extraction is capable of generating income, creating jobs and supporting the development of the region. The extraction of helium concentrate is significant not only for the ecology of Russia, but also for the economy of the global market. Helium is a rare and valuable resource, without which it is difficult to imagine modern high–tech industries: from the aerospace industry to medicine and electronics. But along with the economic prospects of mining, it also brings significant environmental problems that will irreversibly affect the environment in the cryolithozone of Yakutia. The article has valuable practical and theoretical implications for revealing an important topic for the sustainable development of our planet.
