Popov A. N. DEVELOPMENT OF A LOW-COST MULTIMODAL NEUROINTERFACE BASED ON EEG, EMG AND ECG SIGNALS FOR ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIES // Научно-методический электронный журнал «Концепт». – 2026. – . – URL: http://e-koncept.ru/2026/0.htm
The paper describes the development and testing of an ultra-low-cost single-channel multimodal neurointerface capable of simultaneous registration of electroencephalographic (EEG), electromyographic (EMG) and electrocardiographic (ECG) signals using only widely available components. The prototype is based on Arduino Uno R3 and AD620 instrumentation amplifier. The total cost does not exceed 2,405 RUB – 30–100 times cheaper than commercial systems (Emotiv, OpenBCI, Muse). Despite extreme simplicity, the device reliably captures P-QRS-T complex of ECG, muscle contraction artifacts, and eye-blink artifacts in EEG. A simple neural network achieving 78 % accuracy on attention/neutral states enables real-time thought-based control of virtual objects. The developed prototype is ideal for educational purposes, scientific experiments and as a basis for assistive technologies for people with severe motor disabilities.
