This article examines the problem of increasing the academic motivation and cognitive activity of 7th – 8th grade students in Physics. The research focuses on the process of teaching Physics in elementary school, and the subject is game-based techniques as a means of enhancing learning. The aim of this study is to develop and test a Physics board game with elements of a national and regional component and to substantiate the methodology for its application in the educational process. Methods used included analysis of psychological, pedagogical, and methodological literature, pedagogical design, and a pedagogical experiment. A board game, “Physics in the World of Olonkho” was developed to reinforce knowledge of the key sections of the school physics course. The results of the testing showed increased student interest in the subject and increased classroom activity. The study’s novelty lies in its integration of Physics content with a cultural and regional component within the format of an educational board game.
