The article considers the main events of the WorldSkills movement in chronological order. An analysis of the history of the WorldSkills movement in the world, Russia and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) allows the author to conclude about the effectiveness of this competition to form professional competencies, increase the prestige and popularization of working professions.
