The article deals with the problem of the development of social and everyday skills in in junior schoolchildren with impaired vision. The results of the examination of children using four diagnostic tasks are presented. It is noted that these schoolchildren are not familiar enough with the rules and methods for solving typical everyday tasks. This is complicated by visual deprivation, low ability to rely on intact analyzers, which leads to a decrease in activity, autonomy, and it does not allow them to achieve the desired quality of the activities performed.

The necessity of creating an effective system of psychological and pedagogical support for younger teenagers with different levels of personal anxiety in a boarding school is determined. The results of the formative experiment confirmed the possibility of overcoming personal anxiety in orphaned children by conducting corrective and developmental exercises. Statistical analysis of the results confirmed the effectiveness of the psychocorrection work.

The concept of school maladaptation of first graders is considered, the main causes of its occurrence, the symptoms of manifestation are identified. The signs of manifestation of maladaptation are also studied, which helps early detection and faster and more successful correction. Particular attention is paid to the prevention of maladjustment, in which an integrated approach, including the work of various specialists, occupies a special place. In addition, the types of psycho-correctional work aimed at correcting and preventing school maladaptation of first-graders are listed.
