The article deals with the benefits of electronic textbook application in the process of military specialists foreign language training as well as their design requirements set in the military academy. Textbook application capabilities in the process of postgraduate officers English language training are analyzed, the methods of the resource usage are demonstrated.

The article deals with the aspect of cadets’ individual study organization in the sphere of foreign languages using an electronic textbook. It also describes pedagogical conditions that promote the effectiveness of individual study. It gives the examples of tests for self-monitoring of the studied material with the usage of an electronic textbook.

This article is devoted to the opportunities of electronic textbook use at English lessons to form the communicative universal learning activities. Some examples of electronic textbook use at English lessons are presented here. The author draws a conclusion about advisability of electronic textbook use in educational activities.
